No need to always remember and bring up the bad things that happened in the past, especially if they haven’t repeated themselves. Don’t be the one that brings up old news in an argument. Be the one to end the fight.
Agree that it’s okay to disagree on some issues, and leave it at that. No need to argue over differences, especially if your differences aren’t that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. You don’t have to agree on everything. And you won’t. That’s totally okay.
Take time to look back, relive your memories, and share what brought you together. Especially when times are difficult, lean back on each other and rely on these old memories as your foundation for why you two are still together.
